When a child outgrows their first cot, parents usually wonder about the same things: will the new bed fit in the room, will it last longer than one season, and will it fit the family budget. The HEART children's bed answers these questions with two rounded tops – curved arches filled with pine spindles, which we've placed at both the head and the foot. This solution instantly gives the piece of furniture character, while also ensuring full symmetry – the bed looks equally good from every side.
In practice, this gives you freedom of placement: you can position HEART with its longer side against the wall like a sofa, with its end against the wall, or in the middle of the room – it always shows its “good side”. The pillow and duvet won't slide onto the floor at either end. The whole bed is made from pine wood – a durable material that works well in children's beds used for many years, not just one season. The bed is available in several colour variants, so you can easily match it to the style and character of the room. It's worth remembering that HEART has no side rails, so it's best suited to children who confidently get in and out of bed on their own – usually from around 5–6 years of age. The set includes a flexible FLEX slatted base, and you choose the mattress to match your chosen size – the maximum height is 13 cm. HEART is one of several models in the LANO children's bed range.

For the HEART children's bed you need a mattress 90 × 190 cm, with a maximum height of 13 cm. The spindles on both tops rise 31.5 cm above the bed frame, so a thicker mattress would throw off the proportions of the whole piece. If you're wondering which mattress to choose for a 90x190 bed – within that 13 cm you still have plenty of choice, and you can select the firmness and filling type to suit your child's age and weight.
The frame, slatted base, height and finishes are the same – the difference is the second rounded top. LOVE has a curved arch with spindles only at the head, while HEART has one at the head and one at the foot. Choose LOVE if the bed will stand with its end against the wall and you want an open, light silhouette. Choose HEART if the bed will stand with its longer side against the wall or in the middle of the room, should look the same from both sides, and you want the pillow and duvet to stay in place at the foot end too.
We make the HEART children's bed from pine wood – a sturdy, natural pine bed 90x190. Each of the two tops is made from a curved element into which we fit pine spindles – so the top edge isn't a straight board but a gentle arch. The simple shape of the rest of the bed is deliberately kept plain so as not to compete with this detail. Wood is a natural material, so the grain and shade may vary slightly between individual pieces.
The tops at the head and foot keep the pillow and duvet in place, but the sides of the bed remain open – HEART has no side rails. That's why we recommend it for children from around 5–6 years of age, who have long been getting in and out of bed on their own and don't fall out at night. It works well as a bed for a 5- or 6-year-old, and thanks to its 90x190 size it will also serve an older child. The pine wood used to make the bed is FSC-certified and complies with the REACH regulation.
The same HEART looks completely different depending on the finish. You can choose from 11 variants: white, cotton, cashmere, ash grey, graphite, pine, unlacquered, cinnamon, milk chocolate, dark chocolate and olive. If you don't want the bed to draw attention, choose a shade close to the colour of the wall. If it's meant to be the main focal point of the room, go for graphite, dark chocolate or olive. With two tops, colour plays a stronger role than in LOVE, because the pattern of the spindles is visible at both ends of the bed.
The HEART children's bed is designed for self-assembly – you'll need a Phillips screwdriver, an extra pair of hands and about an hour.
